The 5T Linear Cable Engine is designed for controlled cable pulling, tensioning and handling operations in offshore and onshore cable projects.

HICE has developed a split design in which the tensioning unit and hydraulic power unit are separated. This allows the HPU to be positioned away from the working area, helping to reduce noise levels and minimise the required deck space.

The tensioning unit features a practical top-loading design, making cable loading and unloading easier while also simplifying the handling of end connections and potential joints. With increased pulling capacity and monitoring for speed, distance and pulling tension, the system supports safe, accurate and reliable cable handling during operation.
